I have 18 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and a total of 20 years working within the aged and community care sector as an Executive Leader, People Manager and Operations Manager and Clinical Nurse. I am passionate about getting the most out of life and I am driven to be a pioneer in the health care industry. I want to make meaningful change and contributions to our most vulnerable Australians. Most importantly I want to be leading and implementing the changes for the way we deliver and access health care. This is a goal that takes courage and action. I am highly motivated to achieve this and know I have the skills, experience and determination to be successful with this goal. I truly believe that the measure of society is how it cares for its most vulnerable. It is not only my capability but also my vibrant, positive, intuitive and authentic work style that has seen me excel throughout my employment within the industry. This experience has enabled me to create and cultivate my leadership abilities. I have loved all of roles and opportunities that I have experienced since starting my nursing career. I believe that contemporary nursing is a dynamic profession that responds to consumer needs, workforce changes and health care reform. In January 2022 I reflected on my career goals, both what I had achieved and what I want to achieve. As a result, I chose to transition from a senior management/executive role and commence my pathway towards an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner). I am currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Community and Primary Health Care with the Australian College of Nursing. I plan to continue my study and complete a Masters degree in nursing and seek endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner. I would like to be able to support the current needs of our community (access to health care and the mobility of health care service delivery models) by being part of the team that partners in care to help look after our most vulnerable people.
