Dr Attavar is a highly experienced neuro-developmental psychiatrist with 25 years of NHS experience and has recently started to work privately. He provides a listening ear and a personable patient-centred manner in his treatment of those with emotional and neuro-developmental problems. Dr Attavar’s combination of psychodynamic approaches and evidence-based medicine maximises the potential of recovery in people with emotional and mental health problems. Whilst practising as a consultant psychiatrist since 2007, Dr Attavar has also been active in helping to train the next generation of doctors. He has held a wide range of roles that include research, teaching and medical management, in senior positions such as Clinical Service Director, Training Programme Director and Mentoring Lead. Recently appointed Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire, he additionally organises and chairs well-being and recovery conferences for the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
