As a Clinical Lead & Consultant Spine Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust, I am passionate about delivering high-quality care and innovation in complex spine surgery. I work at The Royal London Hospital, one of the few centres in the UK that performs robotic spine surgery for complex spine deformity and trauma. I am also the Head of Clinical Governance for Trauma & Orthopaedics, leading digital projects to improve patient safety and risk awareness. I have a Specialist MCh(Orth) Degree in Trauma & Orthopaedics and two FRCS degrees from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I have trained on three advanced spine surgery fellowships in the UK, France, and USA, gaining expertise in endoscopic and minimally invasive procedures. I am a lecturer at the Queen Mary University of London and a co-founder and mentor of medical start-ups. I have multiple publications and presentations in international conferences and events. Mr Mangattil Rajesh is a Consultant Spine Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust, also seeing private patients at the London Clinic, Harley Street Specialist Hospital and LycaHealth Canary Wharf.Mr Rajesh completed his medical degree at the University of Madras, India in 1990. He later moved to the UK and completed his specialist surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the North West Thames Orthopaedic Rotation. Following his training, he was awarded a Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He also holds a Master of Surgery degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He later completed a further 3 advanced surgical fellowships in Spine Surgery in highly recognised centres across France and the United States, during which he underwent training in Endoscopic Spine Surgery.Mr Rajesh has special interests in Endoscopic Spine Surgery and Robotic Spine Surgery. He sees patients with symptoms of lower and upper back pain, complex spinal disorders and degenerative disc disease among other spine conditions.Outside of his surgical work, Mr Rajesh holds the position of Head of Clinical Governance at the Royal London Hospital. He has a strong passion for patient safety and risk awareness and uses his platform to ensure all patients are safe. He is also a Lecturer at the Queen Mary University of London on the MSc Orthopaedic programme.Mr Rajesh has presented his work at over 30 conferences worldwide and is still actively interested in presenting further. He also has interests in medical devices and digital marketing.
