I am a Consultant Neurologist in the Queen Square Movement Disorders group based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. After graduation I trained in general medicine in the Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust. I was then awarded a Medical Research Council Clinical training fellowship during which I undertook research studying the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease, which lead to the award of my Doctorate in the University of London. I have published and lectured nationally and internationally in Parkinson's disease. I completed my clinical training in Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, St Mary's Hospital, London and St Georges Hospital, London. I currently run a tertiary Movement Disorders service at the National Hospital to which patients with complex or severe movement disorders are referred from across the country. In addition I also run a busy general outpatient and inpatient Neurology practice both at the National Hospital and in West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where I manage the whole range of both acute and chronic neurological disorders.
