I have worked in hospital pharmacy for over 18 years, starting as an Assistant Technical Officer and working as Dispensary manager. I have worked in general health hospital as well as diffrent areas of pharmacy including Dispensary, pharmacy stores, Aseptic department, Oncology department, HIV, Eye units, Pain managment, Urology department & mental health. The experience i have gained during rotating each of these department has made me very confident as a pharmacy technician. I have expanded my knowledge of psychotropic medication, which is important for my role based on the mental health wards. Mental health can be an unpredictable area to work in, and I often have to adapt my schedule to meet the needs of the people who use our services. Juggling several different tasks can be a real challenge, but one I really enjoy, and it's what keeps me looking forward to work each morning. My management roles has given me experience in managing employees, experience in appraisals or monthly supervision with employees. Gained experience in managing department and work load by managing people. I'm ready to take new challenges and learn new skills. All the experience i have gained in general health and mental health hospital has allowed me to pave a way towards building a solid foundation as a hospital pharmacy technician. As a pharmacy technician, I cherish every patient interaction and I always take the opportunity to ensure that patients get the most out of their medicines.
