Communicator: National Key Opinion leader in Hepatology; I Chaired the NICE Guideline Development Group, which created the national guidance for the assessment and management of cirrhosis. I have championed the treatment of liver disease on the Tonight Programme on ITV, Channel 5 News and NBC Television, and have contributed to national newspaper articles and The Big Issue highlighting liver diseases. I have a proven ability to effectively communicate ideas, motivate, understand and work with nurses, clinicians, managers and administrative staff at all levels. I am Medical Governance Lead at London Bridge Hospital (CQC Outstanding) and I sit on the Hospital Medical Advisory Committee and Hospital Board. II was General Secretary of the British Association for Study of the Liver (BASL) and a member of the HPB Clinical Reference Group responsible for Specialised Commissioning for liver diseases in England. My training in clinical (MD), molecular biology (PhD) and immunology (post doc) research enables me to work effectively across interdisciplinary boundaries.
