I am a higher trainee in psychiatry with wide range of clinical experience and specialist knowledge; including experience of working in mental health liaison. I have clinical knowledge in specialist areas of care including: older adults, psychiatric intensive care, substance misuse, and intellectual disability. I have experience of leading multidisciplinary teams in different settings, interfacing with medical teams; and liaison with criminal justice services. I have maintained this broad range of interests as psychiatry continues to change. The skills I have developed will be essential to ensuring patients receive appropriate, effective and holistic care. I am dedicated to teaching and completed a year working as a Fellow in Medical Education (FME). I am an honorary clinical lecturer. I have developed and delivered MDT simulation training to mental health and community health staff. I supported the delivery of an MDT simulation on Medically Unexplained Symptoms. I deliver psychiatric simulations, including service user participation and feedback. I have supervised junior colleagues as a higher trainee. I have been responsible for developing and delivering a teaching program for foundation doctors and General Practice trainees. I have contributed to educational resources including an online module on frailty and substance misuse for first tier practitioners and a national presentation on Young Onset Dementia through the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I have a personal interest in intersectionality, specifically in relation to mental health and LGBT+ individuals. As a student I held roles within my university LGBT society and responsibilities as a student welfare representative. I have delivered, and supported colleagues to deliver, teaching around mental health needs of LGBT+ individuals. I act as an interviewer and examiner within the medical school, and an examiner at national Physician Associate examinations. I have developed examination questions, and have contributed to the delivery of lectures and development of CASC stations for the local MRCPsych teaching program. I have been involved as a principle investigator in published research projects. I have contributed to a published systematic review. I continue to develop my research skills, having completed a Masters degree, and currently attending a qualitative research skills course.
