I am a Specialist pharmacist in sexual health and HIV. I took on this role due to my interests in women’s and sexual health. I have many years of experience in community pharmacy, where I have been lucky enough to work in different areas of pharmacy and different types of pharmacy. Using the skills learnt from my time in community plus my increasing knowledge of HIV I run clinics alongside consultants and nurses where I discuss patient adherence, new medication reviews and patient concerns with medication. I am also involved in Medicines Safety where I: - work closely with the Medicines Safety Officer - review medication incidents - look for trends incidents reported by various service lines and report on them - disseminate learning from past events & coroners reports - am involved in audits on medication safety and pharmacist interventions
