Dr Oliver Gosling is a full-time NHS Consultant Cardiologist. He qualified in 1998, becoming a consultant in 2013 at Musgrove Park Hospital. He finished his cardiology speciality training in the south west after completing a fellowship in cardiac imaging. His research lead to publications in peer-review journals and the results have influenced national guidelines for cardiac CT. He has extensive experience in cardiac CT and echocardiography. Dr Gosling has expertise in all aspects of Cardiology including the assessment of palpitation, breathlessness, chest pain, coronary disease, rhythm disorders, heart muscle disease, heart failure, murmurs and valve disease. He is Cardiac Lead for imaging, which uses images of the heart to investigate cardiac conditions. He specialises in the investigation of cardiac disease using echocardiography (ultrasound), computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Dr Gosling has helped develop the heart failure service at Musgrove to provide care for patients with weakened heart muscle.
