I am an Associate Medical Director and Clinical Director at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, where I oversee a range of national (tertiary level) specialist services in neuropsychiatry, perinatal psychiatry, eating disorders, HIV psychiatry, personality disorders, trauma suffers etc.... I have more than 11 years of post-qualification clinical experience and a Doctor of Medicine in Research (MD Res) in psychology, from the University of London. My mission is to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients with greater complexity needs, and to work with commissioners on the design of pathways that allow for an escalation in care beyond secondary/community services, should patients prove unresponsive to treatment. In my clinical work, I manage complex neuropsychiatric conditions, such as movement disorders, neurodegenerative disorders, brain injury, autoimmune neurological disorders, and neurologically unexplained symptoms. I am a psychotherapist in cognitive behavioural therapy, with particular expertise in its use in anxiety and neuropsychiatric disorders. I am also the co-Clinical Director for Maudsley Private care. The aim of for private care provision and profits to feed into the NHS. I also aim to advance the field of neuropsychiatry through research, teaching, and leadership. I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Neurosciences at the University of Oxford, a co-opted member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Section of Neuropsychiatry Executive Committee, and a published author of multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and books. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the Institute of Psychiatry and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Nottingham.
