My goal, based on the knowledge I gained with my mentor Hans Kraus, M.D., White House Physician to President JFK and the father of Sports Medicine, is to change the practice of medicine in the USA and Europe so that muscles become a standard aspect of every examination for every patient with pain. As director of Muscle Pain Research in the department of Anesthesiology @ NYU/Langone School of Medicine I am studying with my colleagues, methods to clarify the role of muscles in common pain syndromes. I utilize electrical stimulation rather than palpation to identify specific muscles that are the source of pain in a region of the body.
