Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Senior Lecturer - Clinical Director and Deputy Head in Centre for Psychedelic Research under Division of Psychiatry at Imperial - Director of a new research clinic in NHS: CIPPRes Clinic (CNWL-Imperial Psychopharmacology & Psychedelic Research Clinic) at CNWL's St Charles Hospital. - Topic Lead for Imperial's School of Medicine for Psychiatry (year 1&2) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Graduation from Medical School, Copenhagen University (DK), 2001 Trained in molecular brain imaging with positron emission tomography (PET) in schizophrenia and addiction at Columbia University (NYC-US), 2003-04 PhD and post-doc; PET & MRI imaging to study brain 5HT system, NRU & CIMBI, Uni.Hosp. Rigshospitalet, Cph-DK, 2004-2009. Since 2009 under the mentorship of Profs Anne Lingford-Hughes and David Nutt at Imperial College London continuing research in brain imaging in addiction and depression; - developing new imaging methods aimed at investigating primarily the DA and 5HT systems - investigating the DA D3 receptor in alcohol addiction - studies of opioid neurotransmission in gambling and alcohol addiction - fMRI work into role of DA D3 and mu-opiate receptors in cocaine, alcohol, and heroin addiction - with Prof Nutt and Dr Carhart-Harris, brain imaging & therapy pilot studies with MDMA and classic psychedelics. - as per 2020, heading investigations on: 1) fMRI study of reward processing in gambling disorder (PI), 2) psychedelic microdosing (PI); 3) mechanisms behind ketamine's therapeutic effects (PI); 4) role of 5HT2A receptors and 5HT release capacity in healthy and patients with depression (Co-I); 5) phase 1 & 2 clinical trial on DMT in major depression (CI). 2012-2019; NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowships and Lectureship in Psychiatry at Imperial. Clinical psychiatry training alongside academic activities in SLAM, West London and CNWL NHS Foundation Trusts. From Nov 2020; Appointed Clinical Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at Imperial College and in CNWL NHS Foundation Trust, with start 1st Nov 2020. 2016 Imanova IMPETUS pilot PET grant 2018 Academy for Medical Sciences' Starter Grant. 2019 NIHR BRC Grant 2016 Membership with British Royal College of Psychiatrists 2019 CCT 2020 Consultant Psychiatrist in St Charles Centre for Mental Health, CNWL NHS Foundation Trust 70+ international talks 70+ peer-reviewed scientific publications in international journals
