Dr Nivedita Bajaj is a Consultant Community Paediatrician working within the National Health Service, and is currently employed by the East and North Herts Trust, and leads the clinical autism service in her Trust.Dr Bajaj completed her postgraduate training from the London Deanery. She accomplished her higher specialist training working at Young Epilepsy, Royal National Hospital of Orthopaedics, and Great Ormond Street Hospital (honorary contract).Dr Bajaj provides multidisciplinary assessments, where needed, and holistic management or care plans, working together with children/young people, parents and carers. Her special interests include:Autism (multidisciplinary assessment)Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) (assessment and management)Developmental assessment (Griffiths)Dyspraxia (developmental coordination disorder) assessmentComplex neurodisabilities including cerebral palsyLearning difficultiesEpilepsyIn addition, Dr Bajaj offers advice on general paediatric issues associated with the above problems such as constipation, weight gain issues, etc.Dr Bajaj has extensive experience in the assessment and management of a wide range of neurodevelopmental conditions and neurodisabilities. Moreover, she is a certified user of the Griffiths Developmental Assessment, 3Di and ADOS assessments for autism.Dr Bajaj works closely with a highly experienced speech and language therapist (SALT), who not only assesses and manages speech and language difficulties but also feeding and behavioural management and sleep interventions in complex neurodevelopmental disorders.Dr Bajaj is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC), is a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. She is a British Association of Community Child Health (BACCH) regional coordinator for East Anglia. She is an executive member of the George Still Forum for ADHD.Dr Bajaj has presented posters nationally and internationally, regularly carried out teaching on a national level in the George Still Forums Master Class for ADHD, departmental teachings, and GP trainees study days. She is additionally an Educational Supervisor to trainee (junior) doctors.
