Currently working as a practice pharmacist in a 35 000 patient practice where I utilise my prescribing skills to people with long term medical conditions to ensure they are getting the most effective use of their medicines. Prescribe for minor ailments and deal with medicine related conditions. Work in close affiliation with all members of health care to ensure that patients are treated with the highest degree of care. Experience in community pharmacy where I provide a services to the general public and liaise with healthcare professional to ensure safe use of medicine and patient centred care. Accredited in MURs and NMS as well as other NHS public health priority services to aid care to the public. In my prior role as education and training pharmacist I supported the development of all staff groups including pre-registration and early career pharmacists. I designed training programmes and assessed their competence and clinical knowledge to aid their future development. I was a NVQ assessor for student technicians and an educational supervisor for technicians undertaking medicine optimisation courses. Trust wide I developed and delivered training for doctors and nurses to improve rational prescribing, medicines optimisation and patient safety. My clinical experience is varied however my specialist interests are in respiratory medicine and cystic fibrosis. I have a compassionate approach to patient care. I am a non medical prescriber and utilise these skills to support patient flow with the hospital. My previous experience in Medicines Information has provided me with excellent critical appraisal and research skills. I am an excellent communicator and listener and am always prepared to go above and beyond to help others.
