Dr Nectaria Polycarpou is a Consultant, specialising in Restorative Dentistry – specifically Endodontics. Currently, she is based in Kings College Hospital in London, where she has an active role in training qualified dentists to become endodontic specialists. After graduating from Guys Hospital, the University of London in 1995, Dr Polycarpou spent three years working in General Practice. Following this, she trained as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery before undertaking a further three years of specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute. There, she was awarded a Masters Degree in Clinical Dentistry and Endodontics with distinction and a Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Within the field, Dr Polycarpou is one of the few people on the Endodontic Specialist Register with her credentials. She is one of the first mon-specialist consultants to be appointed in the UK. Additionally, she is involved in dental education and frequently teaches at the Royal London Dental Hospital in topics related to endodontics, dental trauma and facial pain. She previously co-founded and ran the Masters program in endodontics at Queen Mary University of London.
