After training in General Medicine at King's College, Dulwich , and Edgeware General, and Hammersmith Hospital, I decided to pursue a career in psychiatry after obtaining my membership from the Royal College of Physicians in 1983. I started my training in General Adult Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry/Maudsley Hospital, including research for two years on psychiatric morbidity in preterm born adults, and studied a Postgraduate Degree in Psychiatry (MRCPsych and DPM). I worked in different psychiatric units for the NHS, including Winwick Hospital in Warrington, Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex, and joined Hollins Park Hospital as a Consultant Psychiatrist in 1996 until October 2019. Since then I have worked as a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist in the independent sector full-time for three years and since September 2022 I have worked as a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist at Merseycare based in Knowsley Recovery and Resource Centre. I held regular outpatient clinics at Spire Cheshire Hospital from 1997 till 2022. I held regular clinics at Rodney Street in Liverpool mostly during the weekend and also at Dallam Court in Warrington. I also accept regular medicolegal referrals.
