Her desire for medicine stems from an injury that affected her grandmother’s health and eventual partial paralysis that took years to treat and reverse. Observing the toll it took out on her family, reiterated how important the usage of extremities is. Her curiosity about lower extremity care was further established when she sustained her own injury as a college student. Years of biomechanical retraining and biofeedback led her to Podiatric surgery. She immersed herself in her academics and research focusing on limb salvage, trauma, and biomechanics, all of which led her to where she is today. She has been an adjunct faculty professor at the VA SF residency program where she taught residents and medical students. She has been a consultant for biologic companies specializing in cryopreserved stem cells and their applications in wound healing. She is also a medical reviewer for MD Review, a leading provider of external peer review services, supporting hospitals and other healthcare organizations across the country.
