Mr. Nadim Aslam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee, Sports Injury and Hip Specialist and is the leading Mako Robotic Surgeon in Worcestershire, being one of a few Orthopaedic Surgeons in the UK currently performing this technique. Currently ranked at Number 5 in Britain for Robotic Surgeon Users. Working out of the BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital, Spire South Bank Hospital, in Worcester, Spire Parkway Hospital in Solihull, and the Worcestershire Royal Hospital NHS Trust in Worcester. He also undertakes NHS clinics in Kidderminster, Tenbury Wells and Malvern. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, which is a world-renowned centre of excellence. He has extensive experience in all aspects of knee and hip surgery including arthroplasty, arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction work. His main interest includes mako robotic assisted primary arthroplasty of the knee and hip which he beleives will be the future. He carried out the first mako robotic assisted joint replacement in Worcestershire. Mr. Aslam undertook his fellowship training in knee surgery at the Orthopaedic and Arthritic Institute, Sunnybrook with Dr John Cameron an internationally renowned knee surgeon and sports injury specialist, and St Michaels Hospital, Toronto with leading knee and hip arthroplasty surgeons. This gave him considerable experience in newer minimally invasive techniques, computer navigation surgery and uncemented implants in the field of joint replacement, giving him the highest quality of training and mentorship and enabling him to further add to his skillset. Before his current appointment, Mr. Aslam undertook a further specialist Knee and Hip fellowship in Oxford to gain specific training in cartilage and bone conserving surgery (Oxford unicompartmental knee replacement and Hip Resurfacing). He has extensive experience in the Oxford unicompartmental knee having worked closely with the designers. In addition to a busy mako robotic knee and hip repalcment clinical practice Nadim Aslam maintains an active interest in medical education, training and research. He has presented at many national and international meetings and has published articles in many of the leading orthopaedic journals. Mr. Aslam is a member of faculty for both the Oxford and Birmingham Orthopaedic Specialist Examination Revision Courses and has been a committee member of the prestigious International Society of Knee Surgery, Arthroscopy and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He has also been awarded membership of the faculty of sports and exercise medicine in 2008.
