I have 10+ years’ experience working in the retail pharmacy industry. Successfully managing The Painswick Pharmacy for 4 years led to development of business management skills. During this tenure, I sustained a profitable business in an ever-changing healthcare market by providing excellent patient care, maintaining existing customer base and attracting new customers through employing strategies with a customer centric approach. These strategies included launching delivery services, promoting patient consultations and introducing new services like flu vaccinations and smoking cessation. I have an exceptional collaborative working relationship with all members of my team. Effectively partnering with the managing director and co-pharmacist, the pharmacy has seen an increase in prescription items dispensed per month by 20%. Flu vaccinations started in 2017, and through promotions, has seen an immense increase in customer interest from around 40 the first year to an estimated 300+ in 2019. The constant desire to learn more outside my field of expertise drove me to delve into the world of Regulatory Affairs through the TOPRA course and subsequently to further studies in business management. The experience of pursuing an Executive MBA at Cass Business school while working has broadened my horizons into the world of business management from wide-ranging perspectives. It has helped to elevate my existing skills of strategic thinking, attention to detail, efficiency led results-driven approach, and continuous self-improvement. The experience has also developed knowledge of global marketing strategies, brand management and advertising to name a few. On a professional level, the MBA has helped to develop my interpersonal skills even further and has allowed me to anticipate the needs of the customer and delivering upon them. This has resulted in brand loyalty in the community, despite fierce competition from other retail pharmacies. I thrive on working in a challenging and fast paced environment with a team of versatile individuals where creativity and innovation drives success. I am passionate about brand marketing- fuelled by observations of the fluid nature of brand performance in healthcare during the last 10 years of working in retail pharmacies. I am now looking to leverage my strengths and expertise to transition into global brand management, preferable but not limited to the healthcare sector.
