I am a pharmacist working as Head of Training in Ashburton Prescribing with a background of management in both community pharmacy and General Practice. I am an independent prescriber with experience working across the Merseyside area in a variety of GP surgeries as part of a multidisciplinary team. Clinical responsibilities involve reconciling hospital discharge summaries/clinic letters, undertaking polypharmacy and structured medication reviews, as well as repeat management. As part of my managerial role I am involved in staff welfare and development. I am responsible for the onboarding and training of new staff into the company. I teach our new recruits, and external parties when contracted, on how to use GP systems such as EMIS, and work with them to develop their skills in order to better deliver on the above clinical roles. I work as a sessional member of staff at Liverpool John Moores University and through my role at Ashburton Prescribing I am helping deliver the Independent Prescribing course in Liverpool University. I'm an avid rock climber, and border terrier enthusiast.
