About Mel BatesI am a psychodynamic therapist working with adults, children, adolescents and families. I originally trained in Dramatherapy (Sesame, Central School of Speech and Drama, 1996) and as well as talking therapy, offer using creative arts to explore and understand feelings, experiences and relationships in therapy where helpful. I also bring a systemic understanding to my work with families, groups and organisations. (Applied Systemic Theory, Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, 2011).I have 25 years of working as a therapist and my areas of specialism are: Developmental trauma, Domestic Abuse, Women's Mental Health, Learning disabilities, Clinical Supervision.
