She was previous President/Chair of UK Association of Children’s Diabetes Clinicians and is Chair of UK Diabetes UK Research Steering Group for Children&Young People. She was awarded Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2022 Platinum Jubilee Queen Elizabeth II Honours for Services to People with Diabetes & People with Autism and Disabilities. She is a multi-award winning paediatrician, Officer for Research Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health, previous Royal College Training Advisor for Endocrinology/Diabetes, Guidelines Officer for British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology Diabetes, member of External Reference Group National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), NICE Diabetes Guidelines Committee, Chair of E-Learning European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and Advisory Council in the International Society of Pediatric Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD). Prof Ng serves as Editor-in-Chief for Diabetes Care for Children & Young People and is a regular reviewer for high impact journals including the Lancet. She has >150 peer reviewed publications (130 first/senior author) and has given >250 presentations at international/national meetings. She was recipient of the Medical Research Council Fellowship in 2006. She has an MBBS (Hons), a Master of Science in Endocrinology, a PhD in Child Health, a Master of Laws, is active in medicolegal work and has an MBA in Healthcare Finance (Merit). She is also a licensed Acupuncturist (BAWMA). She is author of 3 books- 'A Journey with Brendan' documenting a 10 yr account of life with autism as mother/paediatrician, 'Me and My Hormones- What Can Go Wrong?' a book offering an easy-to-read account of hormone conditions affecting all ages and 'A Guide to Type 1 Diabetes Management, Technology and Everything Else You Need to Know'. She is Trustee & Chief Medical Advisor for www.Action4Diabetes.org, a UK charity providing education, free insulin,blood glucose equipment to disadvantaged children with Type 1 diabetes in Southeast Asia.
