As a qualified Occupational Therapist I have worked in Forensic Mental health services and with people with Acquired Brain Injury. I have also gained experience working in Acute Mental Health and Learning Disability Services. I am currently working as Clinical Occupational Therapist with a role split between Forensic and Acute Mental Health services. I embrace change and always willing to learn and progress. Achievements are possible when working effective and collaboratively as an integral part of teams with shared goals. I worked have worked in various jobs after pursuing an MBA degree in Corporate Finance before pursuing a career that I enjoy. I have worked as a Care home manager and now as Clinical Occupational Therapist empowering the disadvantaged and enabling them to live their preferred lifestyles. I am now set on this career pathway . As Forensic Occupational Therapist I have befitted from the dual training in both physical health and mental health. A few of my clients sustain both mental and physical health issues before transfer from penal services to hospitals. Their individual recovery journeys are as diverse as they are challenging. Each day is different and I draw my satisfaction when individuals are safely discharged to follow meaningful healthy lifestyles put together by teams of professionals and family and friends. I continue to gain more insights into my profession and strive to promote Occupational Therapy. I would like to undertake further research preferably in neuro-rehabilitation or Sensory Integration and assistive technology. I am also interested in promoting similar work in underdeveloped world regions
