Since graduating from York St John University in 2013, I have worked in a variety of roles including Falls Prevention, Community Rehabilitation, Community Neuro. For the last few years however, I have specialised in Aids and Adaptations working for local councils. Here I have become a specialist in moving and handling assessments and have also gained experience of providing a wide range of equipment including assistive technology and specialist seating. I also assess and recommend both minor and major adaptations including through floor lifts, ramps, ceiling track hoists, level access showers and extensions. I work closely with housing associations, building contractors, architects and other agencies to ensure the work completed is to a high standard and will enable the service users I work with to remain in their own home long term living a more independent and fulfilled life.
