I love my job and am looking to grow and develop as a social worker. Social workers hold many roles and their positions span several industries, from traditional social service agencies to education. Right now, I am in the case management side of social services. A lot of times, I find myself wanting to get more involved on an individual level and help those in need. Instead of just overseeing clients' services, I would someday like to be able to provide mental health services myself. Although I have an M.A. in English (just because I love to read and write!), I would like to obtain more education, possibly in industrial organizational psychology, or perhaps in counseling. Human behavior is so fascinating, and I would love to learn more about it. I minored in psychology in college, but did study the mind and consciousness through my major in philosophy. Philosophy lies beneath every discipline. It teaches you how to think, ask questions, and propose solutions to life's problems. I think it also reminds us that this is not the only world/reality in existence. Whether you believe in the afterlife or life on other planets, there is so much more than meets the eye.
