Dr Mark Furman is a paediatric gastroenterologist based at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and Wellington (HCA) Diagnostic and Outpatient Centre in Golders Green and Elstree. He is also the Clinical Lead of the Centre for Paediatric Gastroenterology at the Royal Free London Foundation Trust, where he works within a network with Great Ormond Street Hospital. Additionally, he is the trusts Chief Medical Information Officer, with a particular interest in digital transformation.He specialises in the following areas:General Paediatric Gastroenterology, Gastro-oesophageal Reflux, Food Allergy and Intolerance, Coeliac Disease, Eosinophilic Oesophagitis, Constipation,IBD (Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis).Dr Furman earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 1991, as well as a diploma in child health. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997.He is actively involved in clinical research, particularly in the areas of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), eosinophilic esophagitis, and coeliac disease. He also gives talks at national and international conferences and serves on a number of expert committees in the United Kingdom and Europe.
