Mr Mark Farndon is a Consultant specialising in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery and is currently working for the NHS at Harrogate District Hospital. Mr Farndon qualified from the University of Newcastle with a Distinction in 1998, before moving to Yorkshire in 2000 and then to Leeds and Bradford where he undertook his basic surgical training. He was then awarded an MRCS(Eng) and moved onto higher surgical training. He completed 6 years of specialist training in orthopaedic surgery and a further 18 months training in foot and ankle surgery with fellowship-trained consultants. Furthermore, he completed and was awarded his FRCS(Tr & Orth) in 2007 and then developed a more specialist interest in arthroscopic knee surgery and knee arthroplasty during a 6-month fellowship. He focuses on all aspects of foot and ankle conditions, including complex primary and revision surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery and knee replacement surgery (partial, total and robotic). He also treats foot deformities, arthrodesis of the foot and sports injuries. He is regularly involved in research and also presents lectures to students on foot and ankle conditions. He has also written many publications and has presented his research both nationally and internationally.
