This provider's Primary Supervising Physician is Dunnett Capdevilla Durando Maria Montanaro received her Medical Degree at Nueva Granada University and worked as a Physician and Surgeon in her native country of Colombia before moving to the United States. During her internship she spent one year practicing dermatology with famed Dr. J.G. Chalela, world known for his advanced studies in the dermatology field. On arriving to the US, Maria obtained her PA-C license at Miami Dade College. Becoming a certified medical provider permitted Maria to continue her career and passion for the medical field. Since 2008, Maria has worked exclusively in the Dermatology field where she has specialized in medical, surgical and cosmetic procedures. Maria joined Bowes Dermatology in 2008 and was an instrumental member of its team before joining the Riverchase Dermatology group in January 2013. Maria enjoys practicing all aspects of dermatology, with particular interest in skin cancer detection and treatment of cosmetic dermatology. She has received extensive advanced training in the effective use of Dermascope in skin cancer screening. Maria has expertise and certification in cosmetic dermatologic procedures and is considered an expert in cosmetic injectable such as fillers, skin care, as well as general medical and minor surgical dermatology. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Maria is committed to education. She has been responsible for training dermatology medical assistants and acting as Preceptor for students of Miami Dade College. Maria has played a fundamental role in the development of the Bowes Dermatology by Riverchase Product Brand Name. Maria has also participated in medical mission trips to Mexico to treat children living in economically disadvantaged areas. She is happily married to her husband Lee and has two beautiful and successful children. Maria is an avid outdoors enthusiast, traveler and sports fan.
