Dr. Maressa Alejandro is an internal medicine physician, specializing in preventative and medical care for adults and seniors. She earned her medical degree at Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico and has been in practice for more than 20 years. She completed her internal medicine internship, residency and fellowship, as well as additional fellowship training in geriatrics and primary care at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. Dr. Alejandro is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and licensed in multiple stated, including Arizona. She has earned many honors and awards throughout her career and is a member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Alejandro has expertise in treating coronary artery disease, hypertension, diabetes, under-active and over-active thyroid disease, asthma, bronchitis, autoimmune diseases, among other conditions. She specializes in the unique health needs of the elderly, including chronic diseases, nutritional problems, skin ailments, cognitive loss, memory impairment, adverse affects of medications, immobility and balances issues. Whether it’s a complex medical issues with multiple comorbidity or a simple well-check exam, Dr. Alejandro treats her patients with kindness, respect and compassion. She speaks Spanish.
