Energetic, optimistic and passionate about his work, Dr. Marc Uemura values the time he spends getting to know his patients and their families. “I pride myself on giving my patients all of the clinical information they need in an easy-to-understand manner, so they can make the most informed decision possible.” Recognizing that oncology is a unique and complex field of medicine, Dr. Uemura is a dedicated researcher of new information and values opportunities to learn from and collaborate with other physicians. He serves on the US Oncology phase 1 and gastrointestinal research committees in order to bring new and innovative clinical trials to patients at WVCI. “We’re able to treat cancer now in ways that we never could before and, yet, there is still so much to be discovered. Research and clinical trials play a big part in advancing the current standards of care and bringing hope to patients.”
