Dr Manjit Matharu is a Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. He has an international reputation for the clinical care and research of Headache Disorders. Dr Matharu is the clinical and academic lead of the Headache Group at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, which is widely recognised as one of the foremost Headache Centres worldwide.

Headache disorders; Migraine; Chronic daily headache; Medication overuse headache; Trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias including cluster headache, SUNCT and hemicrania continua; Facial pain including trigeminal neuralgia; Secondary headaches including low CSF pressure headache and post-traumatic headache; Interventional procedures for the management of headaches including nerve blocks, botox injections, occipital nerve stimulation (ONS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS); Non-invasive neuromodulation including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), vagal nerve stimulation (gammaCore) and external trigeminal neurostimulation (Cefaly)

Dr Matharu’s major research interests include interventional therapies for chronic headaches, neuroimaging in primary headaches and trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias. He has published over 80 peer reviewed articles and book chapters
