Dr. Maher Balkis, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Infectious Disease department of the Medical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Balkis was an Infectious Diseases consultant and Infection Control Chairperson at the Labib Medical center in Lebanon. He was also an Assistant professor in the School of Arts and Sciences at the Lebanese international University in Lebanon. Dr. Balkis received his medical degree from Beirut Arab University in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at University of Balamand in Beirut, Lebanon after which he finished his fellowship in Infectious Diseases from the American University of Beirut. Dr. Balkis resides in Abu Dhabi with his family and enjoys biking, fishing and sailing.
