Dr. Yellu is an oncologist and hematologist for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Highlands and Polk Counties. He earned his medical degree from the Gandhi Medical College and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at University of Brooklyn/St. John’s Episcopal Hospital. After his residency, Dr. Mahender Yellu worked as an inpatient medical doctor before accepting a research/clinical medicine position in bone marrow transplantation at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. In addition to being involved in various clinical research projects, he taught and mentored medical students. He was later awarded a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
