I am a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience in leadership, critical care, PACU and clinical research. I have certifications in Case Management and Diabetes Education. I completed my MSN with a focus on Care Coordination in 2020 and completed my MBA in Healthcare Management in 2024. My critical care background includes MICU, CVR, cath-lab, IR, pre-op and post-op care. I worked for a staffing agency and floated to various ICUs in the St. Louis area for over 5 years. I worked for an ambulatory surgery center as a total joint replacement coordinator. I covered all patient steps: education, arranging pre-op testing, tracking results, caring for patients on surgery day and completing post-op follow-up. I was Supervisor of a very fast paced telephone triage department serving five states during the COVID pandemic. Our department went from ~700 calls per day to over 3000 calls per day. I was directly involved in revamping day-to-day operations on the fly to meet that new demand. Transitions were fast and furious, with immediate evaluation and course correction. I assisted in developing an abbreviated orientation that was used to onboard temporary staff that had been furloughed from other departments. We functioned successfully from the start of the pandemic, through the introduction of the vaccine and into the reduction of COVID restrictions. During this time we collaborated closely with the evolving tele-health department. The lessons learned during the pandemic are immeasurable. I managed five Non-oncology Clinical Research offices in the East and West communities for Mercy, a large mid-western Healthcare System. I revamped the orientation process for the department and led the DEI&B goal team within the research department. I also led an initiative to assist coworkers in becoming certified in clinical research. I facilitated the required steps to smoothly implement studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During this time I opened an new research office in an adjacent market. I currently manage the Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Heart & Vascular Recovery areas at Mercy Hospital South in the St. Louis area. We are a very busy STEMI center, receiving patients from much of southeast Missouri. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from the success of my team and work to ensure they have the tools, resources and support they need to succeed.
