Since qualifying as a pharmacist in 1996 I have worked in the community setting, as both a manager and a locum. Starting my own business provided me with new challenges and has resulted in the freedom to embrace a variety of roles. Studying for my master’s course in analytical chemistry introduced me to techniques used in analytical science and the principles of quality management. The highlight of this experience was the publication my dissertation results in the Journal of Chromatography A. Application of my knowledge of pharmaceuticals, their licensing and legislation has enabled me to overcome problematic situations. Research, assimilation and effective relaying of facts has allowed me to successfully answer enquiries from health professionals and the public. My meticulous nature and ability to stay calm in a busy environment have been fundamental to my professional progress. I believe my career can evolve further and welcome the challenges.
