I'm a Masters qualified occupational therapist who recently returned to the UK, having spent the past seven years in the Bay Area, California. I’m passionate about enabling independence and skill development through meaningful occupations, and use occupation to positively impact clients' health. My recent work within the public school setting supported students to participate in the curriculum through assessment, goalsetting, interventions and collaboration with staff and families. Teamwork and leading with integrity are incredibly important to me, and I was proud to be involved with DEI initiatives within the non-profit organization I worked for. Since becoming a parent myself, I have also developed an interest in maternal health and wellness, and started my own business, Nurture Occupational Therapy, to support moms during pregnancy and postnatally. I developed the Growing Together mom and baby group curriculum, and have trained 35 occupational therapists to deliver this program, further increasing the positive impact on maternal health. My passion for health promotion is demonstrated through both my school-based and maternal health work; this is also evidenced through my MSc research, which investigated how occupational therapists can promote health through their practice. This research was presented at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists' conference, along with a poster presentation on school based occupational therapy in the UK and US. I have demonstrated my ability to apply my skills as an occupational therapist with a variety of client groups including the elderly, pediatrics, mental health, people with learning/developmental disabilities and clients with a forensic history.
