I am an Occupational Therapist with over a decade of experience in the field of dementia care. I have recently commenced a new position working for a mental health crisis team. We deliver holistic interventions in the community to people experiencing acute episode of mental ill health whilst adhering to risk management. I am privileged to be involved in the delivery of dementia awareness training at The Digital Innovation Centre in Hawkinge for the past 18 months. We provide simulation-based education. I have been involved in the THRIVE project with Nina Clark from @musicalwalkaabout where we co facilitated support groups for young people living with a dementia and their caregivers, we also delivered training to healthcare professionals. I have worked for Kent and Medway Partnership Trust since 2011. I have been Team leader for two memory services in Shepway and Swale, this role allowed me to develop my leadership skills. In 2021 I returned to a clinical role within the East Kent Rapid Transfer Dementia Service, we provided person centred care planning to support people transferring out of an acute hospital to an assessment bed. I supervise members of the team and am a practice educator. I am a non executive board member for both musical walkabout and aftercloud.
