After completing his training, he Attending Surgeon in Microsurgery at Davies Medical Center in San Francisco, before becoming Chief of Hand Surgery in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. He held this position for 12 years before entering private practice in San Francisco.
