I am an experienced writer, Mental Health and Patient Advocate. I’m a former Primary School Teacher and Early Years Specialist, with 15 years teaching experience. I launched my website, Strength Of Tears, in January 2020 to provide support for frazzled Mums with chronic illnesses and mental health problems. I share the strategies I’ve developed as a Mum for my own and my family’s wellbeing. Living with chronic illness can take over family life but by using effective communication and taking a reflective approach to parenting keeps well-being your main priority. I use my experiences with the chronic health conditions that have left me mostly bed-bound and the tools that have ensured I can still be the best mum I can, without stress and mum guilt. I write articles about my life with Migraine as a Patient Advocate for Teva Life Effects and run a support network for migraine patients on Twitter @MigraineMission. I’ve written a respected blog about my journey with chronic migraine and Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, called Laughing While You’re Crying.
