Description

Hi. My name is Darlene Obregon and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, 10481. I like to work with clients on uncovering roots to their presenting problem and help my clients find new ways of healing, so that they can live a more fulfilling life. My approach I incorporate a psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapeutic approach. I believe that our past has an influence on who we are today, and faulty thinking or attachment styles that stemmed from our past, can share insight to the problems we have in the present. During our work, I like to help clients recognize their emotions and learn how to effectively communicate with others about needs. While also learning regulation skills and ways to challenge negative thinking patterns. My focus I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults and families. I have experience working with several mental health disorders including but not limited to; depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, bipolar and ADHD. I have worked with clients on childhood traumas, sexual abuse, school issues, family issues, divorce, custody issues, work stress and life stage stressors. My communication style Actively listening to my clients is something that is important to me. I want to create a space for you with no judgement, just understanding. What you have to say is meaningful and I am here to listen. While listening, I can pick up on subtleties on things you may have missed. My journey to therapy I was fascinated with psychology and the human mind. Which sparked my love for therapy and wanting to help people. It is such an honor to walk alongside people through some of the most difficult times in their life. It is something I do not take lightly. I love what I do and I am passionate about my work. My goals for you Setting a treatment goal is a collaborative approach. I strongly believe that my client's know what they want to work on, and we can work together on identifying your goal for therapy.
