Hi there! Welcome to my practice. My name is Ashley Ikeda and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #120013). I have worked with clients of all ages who have experienced/are experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, substance abuse, relationship issues, life adjustments, self/harm, and acute or chronic trauma. My approach I practice from a client-centered and integrative approach and utilize both evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing practices depending on what a client needs. My focus I have worked with clients of all ages: Children (5-18), adults (18+), couples, and families. Due to the limitations of telehealth services, I am willing to meet with children and teens if telehealth services are determined to be appropriate and effective. Most of my training and experience has been centered around working with adults who have struggled with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related disorders, relationship issues, and stress management. My communication style I strive to create a supportive, empathetic, and welcoming environment as I've learned this fosters a sense of safety and security within the therapeutic container. Through both personal and professional experience, I've developed a gentle and calm tone of voice because it helps to regulate both my and my client's nervous systems. I strive for authenticity and genuineness in all of my interactions with another person, I will share personal disclosures if I believe this information to be helpful to a client in normalizing and empathizing with their experiences. I also believe it's important to be honest and direct in my communication and I encourage the same from others, I open any positive or negative feedback because it allows us to both learn from each other.
