My name is Alexander Gilburd, and I've been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2020, as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor since 2022. I approach therapy with a diverse style to find the appropriate fit for each individual. I generally focus on helping people challenge their thinking in order to help them live their life to their full potential. I've had extensive years of experience treating Substance Use Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and difficulties associated with living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as providing couples and families therapy. My approach I believe in a multifaceted approach! I am a huge proponent of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as I believe practicing changing how we think is where it all starts. In addition, I love to apply a Solution Focused approach to help empower individuals to discover their own solutions to their problems, as well as learn how to prioritize their personal goals and dreams. Over time, I try to provide a warm, nurturing atmosphere to incorporate elements of a Psycho-dynamic approach, helping clients analyze past relationship patterns and how they persist throughout their life in order to change them for the better. For couples, I utilize techniques associated with Gottman Couples Therapy in order to help couples increase intimacy and improve communication. My focus I have worked with a diverse set of populations over the years. I feel comfortable treating individuals that struggle with Substance Use Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Schizophrenia, difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders, most types of Trauma, and OCD. In addition, I am capable of helping couples and families improve communication with each other.
