My communication style I try to provide a relaxed, but productive environment. No one has to answer any questions they don’t want to, and I never pressure anyone to talk about something they’re not comfortable talking about. My journey to mental healthcare At age 18 I had to select a college major, and I had already been reading psychological material for fun, so why not make a career out of it! Luckily the choice of 18-year-old me paid off, and years later I’ve enjoyed helping others. My goals for you I leave the goal setting up to the client but do occasionally ask if we can focus on an important goal that perhaps the client isn’t prioritizing, but again, it’s up to them. My first session with you To tell me why we are meeting, what they would like to improve, basic background information, etc. I also try to end the session with ways we can start to improve their concerns.
