Post registration I worked as a community Pharmacist for almost two years where I helped to develop new ways of working, setting up systems that helped one particular Pharmacy to gain a good rating after a GPhC inspection. I have experience as a visiting lecturer with the in house pre-registration training scheme run at Knights Pharmacy. Here I developed and delivered workshops for the students working toward the registration exam, this included both the clinical and practice syllabus. Following my grounding in community Pharmacy I trained as an anti-coagulant specialist and have gained accreditation in this field. I now run specialist clinics where I initiate and manage anti-coagulated patients. During this period I undertook and passed by Independent Prescribing qualification with the University of Birmingham. I also work as a clinical Pharmacist across a number of practices in the West Midlands, this role involves consulting minor illness and chronic disease patients, repeat prescribing as well as medicine optimisation via reconciliation. I am continuing to develop my competencies to increase the number and types of patients I am able to consult.
