I have been an qualified Occupational Therapist for 7 years. I have experience providing practical support to enable people to facilitate recovery and overcome any barriers that prevent them from doing the activities that matter to them in order to for them to live as independently as possible. My background is working with adults with a range of physical conditions within in-patient and community settings and providing rehabilitation. My post as an acute OT included me completing a rotation where I gained experience in medical, surgical, orthopaedics, neurology and hand therapy. Now in the community I work within a rapid response team dealing mainly with crisis management to facilitate hospital discharge and preventing admission hospital when appropriate. I provide assessment and intervention within people's own homes to make them as safe as possible. I am used to working in a fast paced, pressured environment and am used to a high number of referrals. I can prioritise and problem solve and work within a multidisciplinary team. As well as my clinical work I also appraise and supervise Band 5 and Band 4 members of staff and have been involved in service development.
