I am passionate about forming strong bonds with my patients based on empathy and trust and ensuring they are an advocate in their healthcare through shared decision-making regarding treatment plans. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? The role of a primary care provider should be to screen and assess for behavioral and physical health concerns early. Integrating the two together, and acknowledging that they are directly tied. To treat, as well as educate their patients on healthy lifestyles and promote wellness in their everyday life. A PCP should follow up and check in, to ensure they are getting the on-going support and monitor and that further speciality care and referral is not necessary. If so, collaborate with the necessary specialists needed. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I live in sunny San Diego and have two teenage daughters who play travel softball which takes up most of our time, but we love it. In my spare time (if I get any away from the kids :)), I enjoy golf, yoga, and vacationing anywhere tropical and warm.
