Hello I am Kareen, a registered Pharmacy Technician I am seeking a position where I can further develop my professional dexterity and interpersonal skills. I wish to work within an organisation that is dedicated to the provision of optimum care for patients and believe that this role will support that. Working within a trust that is underpinned by innovation and care excellence is something I strive for in my professional career. My dispensing career began at Lloyds Pharmacy where I learnt how to dispense pharmaceutical prescriptions. I learnt processes and protocols in running a dispensary such as standing operation procedures (SOPs) and safe storing and handling of control drugs. I got familiar with the drugs and worked closely with the team to ensure patients received their prescription within an adequate timeframe. After ten years at Lloyds Pharmacy, I had developed various professional and personal skills and was ready for a new challenge. my role within a doctors surgery enabled me to utilise my skillset in a different environment. I really enjoyed this experience as it exposed me to work within a inter professional team, which further developed my communication skills. Liaising with doctors and nurses helped me to understand their role within patient care and enhanced my team working attributes. My continuous development presented the opportunity for me to undergo a BTEC Level three course in pharmacy where i achieved a double distinction. I maintained a close connection to work within the community and was subsequently head hunted for a pharmacy technician post which i am currently fulfilling. My current role as a pharmacy technician comprises of dispensing drugs and health promotion. I have recently been given the role of healthy living champion within the pharmacy. I received recognition for promoting public health and have been awarded a level two in understanding health improvement.
