Dr Kalu Ogbureke works as a consultant paediatrician at BMI The Blackheath Hospital, The Harley Street Clinic, The Portland Hospital, and Chiswick Medical Centre. He also consults at Frimley Health NHS Trust. Dr Ogbureke has been practising medicine for more than 20 years and specialises in neonatal and respiratory medicine.He also has interests in:Respiratory diseasesAsthma in childrenFood allergiesVaccinesFeeding the newbornNeonatologyDr Ogbureke graduated from the University of Nigeria in 1987 and went on to earn a Diploma in Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians in London in 1995. He completed his paediatric specialist training at Kings College Hospital in London.He is actively involved in research and was formerly the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals local co-ordinator for the EPICure 2 project, which assessed perinatal outcomes for preterm babies in the UK and Ireland. He has also had a number of papers published, and he has conducted controlled trials and systematic reviews.Dr Ogbureke enjoys teaching and currently mentors both junior medical students and nurses. He formerly served as Chief Medical Director at Delta State University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria and has been an examiner for the medical schools of Guys, St Thomas, and Kings College. He has twice been asked to present as a guest speaker at the Paediatric Association of Nigerias Annual Scientific Conference.
