Dr. Farra attended Duke University where she earned a B.A. in Economics and a Certificate in Health Policy before returning to Miami for her medical training. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Subsequently, she completed a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the University of Miami. She is board certified in General Surgery with a specialization in Endocrine Surgery. She is currently faculty within the DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery as an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Division of Endocrine Surgery. Dr. Farra's clinical interests include benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands as well as multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) syndromes. She has expertise in thyroid surgery, minimally invasive parathyroid surgery, and laparoscopic adrenalectomy. Her research interests include parathyroidectomy with intraoperative parathyroid hormone monitoring, clinical predictors of thyroid cancer, and the molecular and functional characterization of thyroid cancer. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews and book chapters and regularly presents regional, national and international meetings. Dr. Farrá is a Miami native with a long history of involvement in community and university philanthropic activities. Dr. Farra sees patients at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Lennar Foundation Medical Center and UHealth at South Dade. She operates at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and the Lennar Foundation Medical Center.
