Dr Jideofor Menakaya is a consultant paediatrician, with extensive expertise, based in London and Middlesex. He is a Neonatal Paediatrician and the Paediatric Gastroenterology Lead Clinician at Hillingdon Hospital. He was previously the Clinical Lead for Neonatal Services at Hillingdon Hospital and the Lead Paediatrician at BMI Bishopswood Hospital.Dr Menakaya treats general paediatric disorders, newborn diseases, paediatric gastrointestinal disorders, childhood nutrition, notably stunted development, celiac disease, vitamin deficiencies, and childhood immunisation. He has extensive experience in assessing and managing medical issues in children, as well as providing paediatric emergency care. He also has particular expertise in the care of newborns and infants, including premature babies. He has lectured all over the world and has authored several papers in the area of paediatric and neonatal medicine.After completing specialist training in general paediatrics and neonatology in London, Hampshire, the West Midlands, and Australia, Dr Menakaya was appointed Consultant Paediatrician in 2003. He became an Honorary Consultant Paediatrician in Paediatric Gastroenterology at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London in 2007.In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr Menakaya is also a clinical researcher, a medical educator, and a mentor for postgraduate students. He is also an instructor on the UK Resuscitation Councils Newborn Life Support, course, a provider of Advanced Paediatric Life Support, and a National Trustee of ORCHYD, a charity for disabled children.Outside of the hospital, Dr Menakaya enjoys cycling, running, singing, and travelling.
